Como Park Zoo

After the fabulous visit to the MN Zoo we were very excited to hear the Como Zoo was opening. Right away we reserved our tickets.

It turns out, you get what you pay for and Como is free.

Upon arrival in the parking lot we noticed a long line to get in. There were many IMO too close. So, we watched and they were letting people in slowly and past the entrance it looked distanced. Once the line was gone we walked to the entrance and entered the one way line. It didn't take long for people to crowed around everyone else. Required masks we under noses and chins. We kept our distance and when people started to crowd us, we stepped off the path and they passed. Tons of groups together. People going the wrong way on the one way path. Kids running wild. Note: a mom of six just said kids were running wild. Do you have any idea how bad these kids were for that statement to come out if my mouth. No staff to direct traffic, enforce masks or distancing. It was disappointing. If you are promoting masks and safe distancing in your news interviews, you need to offer what you are selling. Basically we didn't spend much time in the animal areas. The one plus we found was the outdoors cafe. It was open, clean, tons of space between tables, and the staff there were fabulous. We stoped for lunch and watch the crazy go by over in the path.

If you are looking for a place to meet up with your girlfriends and let your kids roam free (and I know some of you are) this is the place for you. If you are looking for a safe feeling familiar outdoor activity for your family stay away. This place was not it.
